This issue of Acta Obstetricia Gynecologica Scandinavica contains new guidelines for the management of menorrhagia recommended by the Finnish Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The treatment of menorrhagia has undergone radical changes over the last 2 decades, and several new treatment techniques for the management of this common and troublesome condition have been introduced. It is perhaps particularly appropriate that these guidelines come from Finland, where one of the most important advances regarding the modern management of menorrhagia has its origin.
