x-T phase diagram of La-substituted BiFeO3-PbTiO3

Single-phase polycrystalline powders of 0.5(Bi1-xLax)FeO3-0.5PbTiO3 solid-solution were synthesized for x ≤ 0.3 using solid-state reaction method. The mixed crystals exhibit a tetragonal structure at ambient and the c/a ratio decreases with x. In-situ X-ray diffraction measurements at elevated temperatures show a structural transition to a cubic phase. The transition temperatures have been obtained for different x and a x-T phase diagram has been proposed
