Hollow cadmium molybdate (CdMoO 4 ) microspheres with an average diameter of ∼1000 nm have been successfully synthesised via a Na 2 CO 3 ‐assisted solution synthesis method without using any other surfactants or additives. X‐ray diffraction pattern and scanning electron microscopy were used to characterise the samples. The photocatalytic property of hollow CdMoO 4 microspheres to degrade dye rhodamine B under the irradiation of UV light was evaluated, which was much better than that of solid microspheres obtained through the same solution synthesis method without the assistance of Na 2 CO 3 .
