In this study, the second‐order scattering area and field of obtuse dihedral is derived in detail. The obtuse angle, interior angle of dihedral, breaks the symmetry of the two plates in some extent, thus making the illumination case of double bounce more complex. To overcome that, the two plates are analysed here, respectively. Besides, the all cases of second‐order scattering area are considered. Firstly, geometrical optics is utilised to analyse the illuminated cases for each plate and the corresponding range of the incident angle is listed. Then, according to the physical optics integral formula, the integral terms of both plates are derived. To validate the derived model, the experiments compared with shooting and bouncing rays under different illuminated cases have been done.
