The high penetration rate of distributed generation brings a great impact to the security of the distributed network, and research on the penetration of distributed generation has significance on the planning and operation of the distributed network as well as the application of distributed generation. The calculation model of penetration of distributed generation is established under frequency stability constraints, considering the fluctuation characteristics of distributed generation and load requirement, and load frequency characteristics. The boundary of penetration of distributed generation under a different level of fluctuation, power‐frequency characteristics and reserve capacity is defined. The effectiveness and accuracy of the model are verified by an example, providing a feasible solution for the large‐scale access of distributed generation in the distribution network.
