The large number of new energy sources connect to the power grid will cause the voltage volatility which may lead to the sensitive load loss with a certain probability. Thus more attentions should be paid on load characteristics for the distribution network planning promotion. The probability of converter unit failure in the uncertain voltage range is analysed, and the converter‐typed load loss under the corresponding probability is obtained. The application of tolerance capability of converter‐typed load is discussed to enrich the objective function of risk planning for distribution network, considering the minimum load loss caused by voltage fluctuation in the model. An example is shown to calculate the load loss probability and the load loss as the appended sub‐objective, which demonstrating the feasibility of the improved scheme.
