The regulation of a 2‐stage cascade boost converter using a voltage‐mode controller is investigated. The approximate stability analysis of the voltage‐controlled cascade boost converter is performed by using the state‐space average model of the converter and some stability results are obtained. A comparative study of the conventional proportional and integral controller and the proposed voltage‐mode controller shows that the latter is suitable for the regulation of the cascade converter. Experimental results showing the features of the controller in the presence of the load and the reference voltage changes are also provided.
