Various optical binary data shifting circuits have been designed here by using a polarising beam splitter, a half‐wave plate and liquid crystal‐phase spatial light modulators. These circuits are based on the polarisation properties of light. Here, p‐polarised light (logic value ‘1’) and no light (logic value ‘0’) are considered as optical binary bits. Numerical simulations have been performed to find the insertion loss using the data sheet of some commercially available optical products.
