Computing devices are becoming more and more mobile and embedded into modern life, meaning that they need to conform to limited power/energy resources. In this context, the need for lightweight and energy-efficient security solutions to secure the communication of mobile devices, as well as the applications in which they are involved, is inescapable. The targeted devices, such as RFID tags, smart cards and wireless sensor nodes have low computational capabilities. The aim of this Special Issue is to publish state-of-the-art research results of recent advances in lightweight and energyefficient security solutions for mobile and pervasive computing devices. The papers selected for this Special Issue are categorised into two groups: one related to lightweight security and privacy, and energy-efficient solutions; and one related to applications in mobile computing.
