This study develops and recommends fast convergence evolutionary programming (FCEP) to the complicated economic dispatch (ED) problem. Evolutionary programming (EP) is a bunch of evolutionary algorithms root of the basic human heritable chromosome operation. EP has the ability to ascertain the global or close to the global optimal solutions. In this study, FCEP has been suggested to boost convergence speed and superior solution. The efficacy of the suggested technique has been disclosed on four dissimilar complicated ED problems with valve‐point effect, disallowed workable county, ramp rate limits and multiple fuels with valve‐point effect. Test results acquired from the suggested technique have been fit to that acquired from other stated evolutionary techniques. It has been observed that the suggested FCEP carry out superior solution.
