Due to the azimuth shift and defocus of the moving targets in the synthetic aperture radar image domain, a new synthetic aperture radar ground moving target indication method is proposed in this letter based on the changes of moving targets’ polarization characteristics before and after clutter suppression. This method can effectively suppress the false alarms caused by the man‐made objects compared with the displaced phase centre array method in the complex scenes. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the real multi‐channel quadrature‐polarimetric synthetic aperture radar data.
