In this letter, a novel frequency‐reconfigurable substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) bandpass filter (BPF) based on gravity field is proposed. By inverting the proposed filter, the liquid metal would flow into or out of the non‐metallic via‐holes under the influence of gravity, so that the filter centre frequency can be switched from 1.76 GHz (4.54%) in state 1 to 2.02 GHz (5.94%) in state 2, and the insertion losses are maintained at 2.6 dB and 2.4 dB, respectively.
