A new coupling scheme of a 4.28‐THz quantum‐cascade laser is constructed by employing two off‐axis parabolic reflectors. Two parallel terahertz beams are coupled out from the symmetrical facets of the wire laser. The total effective laser power of the terahertz beams is measured by a thermal power‐meter under the modulation state. The highest value of the laser effective output power is about 1.4 W at a driving current of 19.3 A and a duty cycle of 1%. This dual‐beam coupling scheme makes full use of the output power of the wire laser and has important applications in terahertz imaging and biological‐effect research studies.
