This Letter focuses on wireless angle determination and localisation using received signal strength (RSS) from single access point (AP) and alleviates two issues: (i) the existing single‐AP localisation methods are based on fingerprinting and thus are highly dependent on the completeness of database and (ii) it is difficult to estimate the AP‐device angle given RSS measurements because RSS is also distance‐dependent. In this Letter, a parametric/fingerprinting integrated angle‐determination method is presented by involving the antenna radiation pattern. The proposed method mitigates the degradation when tested points are located beyond the database, and removes the requirement for collecting training data at all possible points at each AP‐device angle; instead, only one point is needed at each angle.
