Touch‐based user identity verification is widely used in smartphones, and fingerprint authentication is the most popular method. The authors developed a capacitive type of fingerprint sensor that uses only one amorphous oxide thin film transistor (TFT) that is integrated into a display screen. To achieve a small sensor area, they removed one bus line from the conventional three bus lines and used only one oxide TFT. The proposed sensor shows good sensitivity. The measured voltage difference between a ridge (touch) and a valley (non‐touch) was 5.4 V with an input pulse of 15 V.
