A compact microstrip diplexer using triangular split‐ring resonator bandpass filters with separated electric and magnetic coupling (SEMC) has been presented. The transmission zeros are attributed to the SEMC without requiring more resonators and can be controlled by the electric and magnetic couplings. The diplexer is fabricated, and the design has been demonstrated by measurement. The diplexer has a compact size of 0.264 λ 0 × 0.102 λ 0 , and a measured isolation of no less than 38 dB.
