A robust design method is proposed to optimise the measurement matrix for a compressive sensing multiple‐input multiple‐output (CS‐MIMO) radar system in the presence of clutter. The robustness to the proposed measurement matrix design is conducted against uncertainty on the target angle using a max–min optimisation problem to maximise the worst‐case signal‐to‐clutter‐plus‐noise ratio. The numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in CS‐MIMO radar.
