A substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity‐backed slot array antenna with circularly polarised (CP) conical beam is proposed. The antenna consists of four SIW cavities and four annular ring slots on each cavity as radiating part. Each antenna element radiates CP boresight beam and then conical beam can be obtained for the whole array. Without individual feed network, the proposed antenna has compact structure.
