The proposed scheduling scheme minimises the mean power consumption of real‐time tasks with probabilistic computation amounts on multicore processors. To reduce leakage power consumption of idle cores, the scheme activates a part of available cores while turning off the power of unused cores, and determines the instant speed of activated cores so that the expected power consumption of real‐time tasks would be minimised.
