The high‐speed amplitude limiting performance of a saturated fibre‐optic parametric amplifier is numerically studied. It is shown that walk‐off between the pump and signal pulses caused by a large dispersion slope makes the saturation behaviour less efficient and induces interaction between neighbouring signal pulses mediated by temporally‐broadened pump depletion, both of which degrade the limiter performance.
