This paper presents a joint detection andtracking filter for a single extended target in the presenceof clutter measurements and missed detections. The filteris obtained by adapting the Poisson extended targetmodel into the Bernoulli filter proposed by Mahler. Theresulted filter is an optimal extended target joint detectionand tracking filter. Predictor and corrector are derivedfollows the random set filtering framework. A particle filterimplementation is presented, in which simplificationmethods are used to make it easy to be realized. Simulationresults show that the proposed filter is effective atdetection and tracking of extended target in dense clutterbackgrounds.
