Anti‐Lan caused mild hemolytic disease of the newborn in the second child of a previously transfused woman whose parents are first cousins. Based on the Lewis phenotype of the red cells of the proposita and her Lan‐negative sister, Len was shown to segregate independently of the Secretor laws
