Most research figures on employment rates for people with epilepsy indicate that they do not perform as well as others on the labour market. Although research figures vary, unemployment rates are generally higher for people with epilepsy compared to those of the general population. Even though the majority of professionals working in epilepsy care now believe that most people with epilepsy can, and should, perform on the labour market as well as anybody else, this message is still not widely accepted.
