Propylex is a membrane type plasma separator using a polypropylenehollow fiber membrane with regular and orderly rectangular pores, which has been developed and manufactured by Ube Industries, Ltd.This product is characterized by: (i) low complements activationbecause of its polypropylene membrane; (ii) little damage to blood cellseven under high transmembrane pressure due to its characteristicpore structure; and (iii) slight fluctuations in the sieving coefficientsfor substances with high and low molecular weights even with increasedthroughput, which allows stable clinical use.
