Background:  Self‐expandable metallic stents (SEMS) and covered‐SEMS (cSEMS) are used for patients with unresectable malignant biliary strictures. Occasionally, there are cases where stent migration can easily occur. Methods and Results:  We experienced a dislocated distal cSEMS that was unable to be removed by previously described techniques. However, we could successfully remove cSEMS with a wire‐loop technique using a polypectomy snare and guidewire. Conclusion:  This technique may provide hope for the removal of severely dislocated cSEMS.
