Erythema dyschromicum perstans: response to dapsone therapy Erythema dyschromicum perstans (EDP), or ashy dermatosis, is a chronic hyperpigmentary skin disorder characterized by ash‐gray macules, often with an active red border. 1 , 2 Various therapies have been tried, including sun protection, chemical peels, antibiotics, corticosteroids, vitamins, isoniazid, griseofulvin, and chloroquine, without any benefit. 1–4 Some authors have suggested the therapeutic efficacy of clofazimine on EDP. 5 We report two cases of EDP which responded remarkably well to treatment with dapsone.
