Educating the dietitians of the future

The role and sphere of influence of dietitians has expanded markedly over the last decade, and education and training of dietitians must similarly expand in order to prepare them for their current and future work. The educational initiatives which have been put in place in both pre‐ and post‐registration training in order to facilitate this process are described, together with proposals for changes in the structure and content of dietetics pre‐registration training in the UK.
