Summary. An elderly woman with mild von Willebrand's disease presented with acute myocardial infarction. Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, to mechanically disrupt the thrombus without anticoagulation, was successfully undertaken. Haemostatic cover was also avoided.
