Summary Attrition was assessed in a randomized trial of a parenting intervention programme for adolescent mothers and their infants. Infants who were admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit, mothers who had partner difficulties, and mothers and infants who were visited for less than 60 min a week on average (typically in the control group) were more likely to miss one of the two follow‐up visits.
