Summary A study on a phenylalanine‐hydroxylating enzyme has been carried out on five human foetuses of gestational ages from 13 to 18 weeks. Activity was found in liver homogenates, with no apparent variation with gestational age. No activity was detected in kidney and muscle. Several more properties of this enzyme have been identified.
