Summary Strong cross‐reactions were observed between cell wall lipopolysaccharides from several strains of Vibrio cholerae . Each preparation suffered profound loss of serological activity on treatment with hot dilute acetic acid; in each case the concomitant release of fructose is suggestive of its involvement in an important antigenic determinant.
