Summary The nutritional myopathy of the Rottnest quokka ( Setonix brachyurus ) was further investigated by electromyography and electrocardiography and the findings were correlated with microscopic changes in the skeletal and cardiac muscles. The electromyography patterns consisted of pronounced myotonia and other “myopathic” changes. Complete reversion of the electromyogram to normal occurred following treatment with vitamin E. Nonspecific eleetrocardiographic changes occurred and were associated with myocardial lesions in the heart.
