Summary Inoculation of unweaned mice with two strains of Leptospira pomona resulted in chronic renal infection and urinary excretion of many organisms for long periods. Infection of 2‐day‐old mice with one strain resulted in reduced growth and mortalities 3 to 4 weeks later associated with a high excretion rate. In adult mice, only a transient period of leptospiruria was produced.
