Summary The haemagglutination test for toxoplasmosis can be made simpler and easier to perform by the use of pyruvic aldehyde treated cells and by omitting tanning of the red cells. Pyruvic aldehyde treated cells or sensitized pyruvic aldehyde treated cells are stable over a period of months, thus eliminating the necessity of a continual supply of fresh red cells.
