Summary Using rabbits in which an in‐dwelling catheter had been inserted into the artery supplying one ear, and which were fully conscious, it was shown that the intra‐arterial infusion of reserpine had a vasodilator effect on the infused ear. It is concluded that at least part of the peripheral vasodilator effect of reserpine is due to local action.
