Summary The cardiovascular effects of a radioprotective drug (S‐(2‐amino‐ethyl) thiuronium bromide hydrobromide) were investigated in intact dogs. This substance decreases cardiac output and increases systemic pressure and resistances. Coronary flow is decreased, cardiac oxygen extraction is increased, and cardiac efficiency maintained.
