SUMMARY The magnitude of the resting polarisation resistance and the magnitude and time course of the changes in the polarisation resistance have been measured during the action potential in ventricular muscle from the cat, dog, sheep, rat and guinea pig. The theoretical time course of the changes in membrane conductivity and in membrane permeability have been computed.
