mTOR is an important regulator of cell growth in response to nutrients and growth signals. A study published in this issue of The EMBO Journal and a recent study by Settembre et al published in Science reveal how growth signals mediated by mTOR and other protein kinases such as MAPK can converge on TFEB to modulate endosome biogenesis and trafficking.
