Multisystemic therapy (MST) is an intensive familyand community-based treatment that was developed in the late 1970s to address the mental health needs of seriously antisocial youth. There is only mixed evidence for (long-term) success of current MST. The author suggests that following important topics, which are hardly considered in current MST approaches, should be included in order to make this treatment approach more adequate:
