Exact solutions are determined for two cases of two‐dimensional flow in aquifers with clay laminae. Approximate solutions are obtained by the use of the technique presented in part 1 of this paper and are compared with the exact ones. It appears that the agreement is good, provided that the ratio of aquifer length to aquifer thickness is sufficiently large.
