The hydraulic conductivity of inhomogeneous, isotropic, or anisotropic saturated stable porous media is computed from the observed or known field of the piezometric head ϕ in Cartesian and curvilinear orthogonal coordinates, in the general case, and for some special forms of ϕ. The method can be applied to aquifer flow and to heat transfer, and its accuracy can be assessed.
