O'Connell has proposed a correction to Young and Pisano's numerical multisite package (NMP) which we believe is necessary but insufficient to make the computer coding reproduce the desired Matalas algorithm for Markovian synthetic flows. In addition, we believe that the sequences generated by even a corrected computer program may not always be adequate for reservoir optimization studies.
