An instrument to record a number of water levels on one chart for field studies was developed around a float‐pulley mechanism attached to the shaft of a potentiometer. A timing circuit allows one 6‐second recording cycle each minute for each of 10 sensors. Drift due to battery drain has not been encountered, and field performance has been satisfactory at a total cost of less than $400.
