Analyses of hydrologic data from high‐intensity short‐duration storms on very small drainage areas having varying physical characteristics indicated that a 1‐minute unit hydrograph could be used as the basis for generting runoff from an effective rainstorm input. The single parameter of the unit hydrograph (time constant K ) was shown to be related to the physical characteristics of the drainage area. No evidence of the correlation between K and the storm pattern was discovered. Procedures are given for estimating net storm inputs.
