There have been studies to obtain scattering coefficients of an imperfect wedge by applying the impedance boundary condition. However, it is important to clarify the validity of this application, because the impedance boundary condition is known not to be valid at an edge. In this paper the scattering calculations for rectangular impedance cylinders by using the Wiener‐Hopf technique are presented. A comparison is given with the result based on the exact boundary condition. In addition, multiple scattering by two parallel rectangular impedance cylinders is studied.
