The magnetic polarizability tensor, the demagnetization tensor, and the depolarization tensor of an ellipsoid are all related to its electric polarizability tensor. The four tensors are completely described by two scalars. The relationship between the electric and magnetic polarizabilities of an ellipsoid can be applied directly to an elliptic aperture. The total cross section of an antenna integrated over wavelength is given by the antenna's polarizabilities.
