The singular behavior of the electric field near the tip of a dielectric corner or a dielectric‐metallic corner is investigated by solving an appropriate eigenvalue problem on the surface of the unit sphere. As examples we study the dielectric corner, a dielectric corner on a metallic corner, and a metallic corner on a semi‐infinite dielectric medium. We also consider some particular configurations, in which the dielectric or the metallic has no influence on the singular behavior.
