Secondary diffracted fields from a perfectly conducting strip residing on a planar interface separating two dissimilar dielectric media is obtained via the approximate solution of a modified Wiener‐Hopf equation. Ray optical interpretations are associated with secondary diffracted waves which result from the asymptotic analysis.
