High‐latitude exospheric temperature observed over a solar cycle

The exospheric temperature is an important parameter for neutral atmospheric models. This parameter varies diurnally, seasonally, and over longer periods because of solar‐cycle effects. Observations made with the Chatanika radar over the past 11 years have resulted in high‐latitude exospheric temperature data over these periods. These data are now available. This very large data base indicates that the high‐latitude exospheric temperature varies dirunally and seasonally as expected and by 500°K over this solar cycle.
