The results of observations of the amplitude variations of pulses transmitted by a powerful VLF transmitter (ƒ = 15 kHz) at different distances are given. The duration of the pulses varied from 5 to 120 sec. The observed variations may be explained as the self‐action of a powerful wave in the lower ionosphere.
